Chagrin Academy for the Performing Arts
Educational Theatre

By: Anton Chekhov

Show Description:
One summer at a lakeside Russian estate, friends and family gather for a weekend in the countryside. While everyone is caught up in passionately loving someone who loves somebody else, a tragicomedy unfolds about art, fame, human folly, and the eternal desire to live a purposeful life. It’s a world of love - all misplaced, with Chekhov’s remarkable commentary on the foolish lives we all lead. They play is both heartbreaking and full of gentle humor, making us smile at the idiosyncrasies we all have that make life fascinating.
