Clague Playhouse
Community Theatre

By: Donald Margulies

Show Description:
Pulitzer Prize-winner Donald Margulies brings the true (or semi-true) story of Victorian gentleman and seafaring wanderer Louis de Rougemont to the stage. This play tells tales of bravery, survival and celebrity that left nineteenth-century England spellbound. Lost on the high seas, Rougement encounters exotic islanders, giant sea turtles and a man-eating octopus. The audience is left to judge whether he is an inspirational figure touched by imaginative genius or a mere con man. Suitable for all ages.
