"Truth is truth to the end of reckoning" sums up Shakespeare's most resonant play of our day. Measure for Measure tells of Isabella, a young and devout nun compromised by Angelo, a corrupt official. Angelo offers to save Isabella's brother, Claudio from excecution, but in return asks her to fulfill his carnal desires of the flesh. With nowhere to turn for help, and desperate for her brother's salvation, Isabella threatens to expose Angelo and his corruption even though he tells her no one would believe her.
