Army wife Kate's world collapses when she learns of a deadly attack at the Iraqi base camp where her new husband, Ray, is deployed. Unable to learn whether Ray is dead or alive, Kate cries herself to sleep, dreading the worst — only to be visited by visions of Ray: a past, present, and possible future version of the man she loves. Through the longest night of her life, Kate revisits the memories of how she and Ray fell in love, all while confronting the black dress in her closet she hopes never to wear. This love story crescendos with sharp emotion, dramatic moments, and even some comedic levity, all draped in the constant uncertainty of whether Ray has survived the attack. Written by retired U.S. Army Officer and Iraq Veteran Eric Mansfield and inspired by the stories of real military couples, Love In Reserve delivers a new appreciation and admiration for the overwhelming challenges our military couples face every day.
