In this performance series, NWT hands the mic to alumni and local artists for intimate showcases of music, dance, spoken word, and poetry.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Antonio de Jesus lives under the BoyInGenes moniker, inspired by the two things that relate to one another: genes & jeans. His body of work includes the majesties of film photography and acting for the stage, all of which are possible because of his friends. Offstage, he works at Goodkind Coffee, is a contributor to Cleveland’s William Frederick Clothing, and is the current bassist for Total Downer.
Near West Theatre appearances include Hair (Tribe), Scrooge (Tom Jenkins), Assassins (Zangara), Carrie (ens), and Spring Awakening (Hanschen). At Blank Canvas Theatre, Antonio has performed in Equus (Alan), Sweeney Todd (Bird Seller), Little Miss Sunshine (Dwayne), Cannibal the Musical (George Noon), The Texas Chainsaw Musical (ens), & Cabaret (Victor).
“Spellman,” an evening of instrumentals and words glossing over past, present, and future, will feature members of Total Downer alongside Antonio! This performance includes the musicianship of Andy Schumann, Arfil Pajarillaga, and Clay Reid.
Antonio dedicates all of his work to his mum and the loving memories of Emily Suzanne Plank & Uncle Todd “Buck” Parker. Learn more at BoyInGenes.com!
