Show Description:

A rag-tag troupe of actors races across medieval Europe, struggling to outrun the Black Death in 14th-century Europe, performing biblical “morality plays” (“Noah’s Flood”, “Cain and Abel”, among other crowd-pleasers) in the hopes of being accepted into the refuge of a clean city. This meta-theatrical play-within-a-play examines survivor’s guilt and the evolution of human creativity in a dark age: When does a crisis destroy us, and when does it open new frontiers? A sharply funny and unexpectedly moving play on the purpose of art and the role of the artist and the individual in times of disaster.
