It's time to carry the banner for Disney's Newsies! Set in turn-of-the-last-century New York City, Newsies is the rousing tale of Jack Kelly, a charismatic newsboy and leader of a band of teenaged "newsies." When the titans of publishing raise distribution prices at the newsboys’ expense, Jack rallies newsies from across the city to strike against the unfair conditions and fight for what's right!
Based on the 1992 motion picture and inspired by a true story, Newsies features a Tony Award-winning score by Alan Menken (Little Shop of Horrors, Sister Act) and Jack Feldman and a book by Tony Award-winner Harvey Fierstein (Kinky Boots). Featuring the now-classic songs Carrying the Banner, Seize the Day, and Santa Fe, Newsies is packed with non-stop thrills and a timeless message -- perfect for the whole family and every audience.

Weathervane Playhouse will continue to regularly evaluate our health and safety policies and will make adjustments as necessary based on community health data and the guidance of our local public-health officials. As of March 17, 2022:
PERFORMANCES
Ticketholders will no longer be asked to show proof of vaccination against COVID-19. Additionally, our audience members are free to choose whether to wear a face mask inside our facility. Guests exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19 or who have tested positive within the last 10 days must stay home.
CLASSES
Masks are no longer required for students. Students exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19 or who have tested positive within the last 10 days must stay home.
VOLUNTEERS
ALL Weathervane Playhouse volunteers will be required to show proof of vaccination against COVID-19.
